ConsenSys, one of the world’s largest blockchain software companies, has partnered with Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN), a national blockchain project supported by the Chinese government,
As part of the partnership, ConsenSys’s Ethereum-based DLT protocol, ConsenSys Quorum, will be presented in the BSN ecosystem, the company announced on Monday.
The protocol will be available in 80 different cities through BSN public nodes in mainland China. ConsenSys director Charles d’Haussy told the Cointelegraph that ConsenSys Quorum will be available in all major cities and provinces including Beijing, Xiong’an and Hangzhou.
ConsenSys‘ GoQuorum – an open source Ethereum client and part of ConsenSys Quorum – will be interoperable with BSN structures and protocols through BSN’s Interchain Communications Hub. The BSN will also feature the ConsenSys blockchain set of applications, known as ConsenSys Codefi, placing its applications such as Orchestrate, Workflow and Assets in the BSN market.
ConsenSys Quorum will be bundled in the BSN with other public and authorized blockchain networks to allow the sale of cryptomoedas to companies and governments. BSN supports large blockchains such as Ethereum, EOSIO, Tezos, Polkadot and others.
In addition, ConsenSys will cooperate with BSN to provide training programs for the use of ConsenSys Quorum in China. Yifan He, the chief executive officer of the BSN Development Association, said that BSN will include the Quorum in its training programmes in 2021 to „substantially accelerate the corporate adoption of blockchain technology and Ethereum-based solutions in China.
Founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, ConsenSys is one of the world’s largest companies developing software products on top of Ethereum’s blockchain. By joining BSN, ConsenSys aims to achieve a larger and deeper market in China, Lubin said:
„We believe that the different open source blockchain protocols need to interoperate and, with BSN, we are taking a significant step to bring ConsenSys Quorum to many companies in China that could benefit from transparent collaborative business networks.
The BSN is a blockchain initiative supported by the Chinese government, supported by the China State Information Centre, a think tank under the National Development and Reform Commission. Launched in late 2019, the BSN has become one of the largest global corporate blockchain ecosystems, deploying more than 2,000 blockchain applications in companies and government organisations in China to date. By 2021, the BSN plans to complete the integration of 10 permitted blockchain protocols and 30 more public.
